Be Prepared – Know Before You Go

We can’t wait to welcome you to the PVD FanZone. To help everyone have a safe and enjoyable experience, we’ve put together some simple guidelines and FAQs on what to expect for a fun, stress-free matchday.

Yes, there is no fee to enter the PVD FanZone.

Yes, the PVD FanZone is open to all ages.

Metered Spaces
There are over 2,000 metered parking spots in Providence. Metered spaces are found throughout Downtown, near the State House & Train Station, College Hill, Smith Hill, Federal Hill, the Jewelry District.

Parking Lots
If you can’t find a metered space, there are many private parking lots and garages in and around Downtown. Some paid parking lots and garages conveniently located near the PVD FanZone are listed below.

Vendors will be selling a mix of food and drinks. The FanZone will have alcohol available for sale for guests that are 21+ years of age with a valid ID or passport. Guests who appear intoxicated will be denied entry or removed.

No outside alcohol will be allowed into the designated FanZone areas. Guests who appear intoxicated will be denied entry or removed.

The events are rain or shine, but if there are consistent downpours, alternative viewing options will be communicated on social media channels as needed.

Visitors to Providence are encouraged to signup for PVD311. This service is operated by the City of Providence and provides a central place to receive important safety, weather, and City resource announcements via text and email. Sign up here >

PVD FanZone Public Safety FAQs

Security & Safety

Yes. All attendees must pass through one of four designated security checkpoints before entering the FanZone. 

Yes. Uniformed police officers will be stationed throughout the FanZone and surrounding downtown area. 

Yes. A Mobile Command Center will be located on Finance Way where visitors can seek assistance, report concerns, or receive emergency support. 

No. Outside drones are prohibited over or around the FanZone. 

Alcohol service will end 30 minutes before the FanZone closes each night. 

Immediately notify a police officer, event staff member, or visit the Mobile Command Center on Finance Way. 

Families are encouraged to: 

  • Establish a meeting point in case members become separated  
  • Keep children supervised at all times  
  • Follow directions from event staff and public safety personnel  
  • Stay hydrated and prepare for large crowds  

Transportation and Road Closures 

Yes. Visitors should expect increased traffic and temporary road restrictions during major match days and special events. 

Expected traffic impacts include: 

  • Finance Way closed during FanZone operations from Francis Street to Exchange Terrace  
  • Gaspee Street reduced to one lane between Smith Street and Francis Street  
  • Possible full closures on select event days  
  • Temporary lane closures near the Convention Center during large fan transportation operations  

Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time. 

The City strongly encourages attendees to ride RIPTA or carpool whenever possible to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow.

Yes. RIPTA Routes 50, 55, 56, and 57 will operate on detour from June 1 through July 302026 due to Gaspee Street closures. 

Routes 50 and 55 

  • Inbound trips will detour via Smith Street and Francis Street  
  • Outbound trips will detour via Francis Street and Smith Street  

Routes 56 and 57 

  • Inbound trips will travel via Francis Street  
  • Outbound trips will detour via Francis Street and Smith Street  

Additional transit updates will be shared by RIPTA throughout the event period.  

Rideshare services should use the Providence Amtrak Station area for pickups and drop-offs. Please see map for designated pick-up/drop off sites for ride-sharing.

Visitors driving to the FanZone are encouraged to park at Providence Place and enter from Promenade Street. 

Visitor Tips 

Visitors are encouraged to: 

  • Plan transportation and parking ahead of time  
  • Arrive early on major match days  
  • Follow posted signage and security instructions  
  • Use designated entry and exit points  
  • Stay aware of surroundings in crowded areas  

Updated traffic advisories, FanZone maps, entry points, and emergency exit information will be available on this website. 

Yes. Emergency exits and public safety information will be clearly identified throughout the FanZone. 

Residents should expect increased pedestrian activity, periodic traffic delays, enhanced police presence, and temporary road closures in parts of downtown Providence.
